After more than two years with Stephan Pfuhl (SBB CFF FFS) as the President of Railsponsible, two new leaders assumed their roles in March 2023. Stefan Braun (ÖBB) will take over as the new President, and Rainer Straub (Siemens Mobility) as the new Vice-President.

During the presidency handover, we shared ideas and lessons learned to ensure a seamless transition and establish a strong foundation for collaboration.

We also expressed our gratitude towards Stephan Pfuhl for his remarkable dedication and hard work during his tenure. Under his guidance, Railsponsible gained new members, adopted a new working mode, implemented a new governance model, and H&Z took over the Initiative Management Office.

We just had our Railsponsible Onsite Workshop in Rome!

After a dinner the day before the workshop, which gave us the true taste of Dolce Vita and the opportunity to connect and exchange ideas, we still had a full workshop day ahead of us. During the onsite workshop, we discussed all current topics, clarified open questions, and advanced all working groups. The atmosphere was characterized by the eagerness to collaborate and support each other. It became clear throughout the workshop that we really need to celebrate all successes, even the smallest, that we achieve together as a rail community.

The next step for Railsponsible is to bring all the pieces together and consolidate the outcome into a clear roadmap.

Railsponsible holds three onsite workshops per year, and the next one is scheduled for June 2023 in Vienna.

Deutsche Bahn receives award for sustainable procurement at the Sustainability Congress 2022!

This year, for the first time, the Sustainability Award was presented for three categories at the Sustainability Congress. We are proud to announce that the German railroad company Deutsche Bahn received the Sustainability Award for its “outstanding sustainability concept and implementation of sustainability solutions in the operations strategy”.
